The
American Red Cross has been responding to crises, saving lives and restoring
hope in the United States since 1881. The American Red Cross is a
humanitarian organization led by volunteers that provides relief to victims
of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to
emergencies.
The
Bergen-Hudson Chapter of the American Red Cross has been helping the
residents of Bergen and Hudson Counties for more than 100 years in combined
service. We currently outreach to approximately 1.5 million residents, and
respond to approximately 156 residential fires each year. |

Bergen County Community Action
Partnership's mission responds to the emergency and long-term needs
of low-income persons through an array of services designed to relieve the
crises associated with poverty and facilitate the transition to, and
attainment of, self-sufficiency. Established in
1967, BCCAP is Bergen County's
designated anti-poverty agency. The 18 member Board of Directors governing
the agency is appointed or elected from within the county and represents
local government, concerned private sector entities, and the low-income
population served by the organization. |

CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to
provide free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer:
people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones, and the bereaved.
CancerCare programs – including counseling, education, financial
assistance and practical help – are provided by trained oncology social
workers and are completely free of charge. Founded in 1944, CancerCare
now provides individual help to more than 90,000 people each year, in
addition to the 1.4 million people who gain information and resources from
